Meet Dr. Atabakhsh

Blending the art of cosmetic and restorative dentistry, Dr. Hamid Atabakhsh, our Periodontist at the Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentistry (TCCD), has enjoyed working in the dental field for more than 20 years. He has spent more than 15 of those years alongside Dr. Guy Lewis in The Woodlands and Houston, TX. He offers patients of all ages general, cosmetic, and restorative dental and periodontic procedures in TCCD's state-of-the-art dental practice, such as dental implants, implant-supported dentures, bone grafts, gum grafts, periodontal surgery, and tooth extractions. He is trained in intravenous sedation, which offers his patients an option to make their appointment as stress-free as possible. As an accomplished Periodontist, Dr. Atabakhsh strives to be a compassionate dental professional offering comprehensive care that is of the highest quality.

Dr. Atabakhsh uses the latest technology and techniques to create healthy, stable smiles. He is also highly qualified to perform resective and regenerative periodontal procedures for patients with moderate-to-severe periodontal disease, or for those who have experienced trauma or a fracture to their teeth. Dr. Atabakhsh is also skilled in replacing teeth that are severely loose, or that have been lost due to advanced gum disease, various gum issues, or trauma. With dental implants and implant-supported dentures, Dr. Atabakhsh can restore a tooth's form and function. 

Education & Training

Dr. Atabakhsh had a great passion for dentistry and periodontics early on in life and knew he wanted to help others through cosmetic dentistry. Once Dr. Atabakhsh graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, CA, he served his periodontics residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. Then, he completed his specialty degree in Periodontics and received his Master of Science degree. Dr. Atabakhsh now serves the greater Houston area as a Periodontist at the Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentistry by performing cosmetic and plastic periodontal surgeries.

"I have been a patient of Dr. Lewis' since 1996 ?when I had a lucky day and picked him out of a phone book as the dentist to do my first root canal.  I have lived in other states, as I do now, and make the trip to the Woodlands to see Dr. Lewis and it is well worth it.  I have a LOT of cosmetic dentistry due to tetracycline staining.  I have used other dentists due to convenience when I was not living in Texas and these resulted in dental disasters which had to be repaired/redone by Dr. Lewis.  Very few dentists have the attention to detail that Dr. Lewis has when it comes to cosmetic dentistry.  It is important to everyone at his office that I feel comfortable with what needs to be done, and the staff and Dr. Lewis are very good at listening to what is going on and what the end result should be.  Dr. Atabakhsh is someone whose services I had hoped I would never need, but when I did, the care I received was outstanding and caring.  Dr. Lewis' office manager Cristine has helped me out on weekends and after hours when I have had a few crisis events with my teeth, and it is reassuring to know that she is always there to help. I cannot say enough about Brenda, Dr. Lewis' assistant.  She is so caring and kind and very compassionate.  Penny at the front is always cheerful and happy to help.  I could go on and on, but suffice it to say I am very appreciative of the smile that I have because of Dr. Lewis and his amazing staff.  My teeth were incredibly bad, and they have been turned into a work of art.  I can't make this stuff up!  ;)  As I tell Dr. Lewis, the only thing wrong with him is that he is a Sooner fan (I am a Longhorn).  Thank you for everything!"
