Overview
At the Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentistry, dental implants serve as the ultimate tooth-replacement option. By securely anchoring artificial teeth directly to the jawbone, you can achieve a result that looks and feels more like your natural teeth. We provide patients in The Woodlands and Houston, TX and surrounding areas with outstanding implant dentistry services, including the surgical placement of dental implants. We use ASTRA TECH Systems and Nobel Biocare dental implants. Implant dentistry process involves 2 phases: surgical placement of the dental implant(s), and placement of the restoration. The Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentistry is distinguished among Houston-area implant dentistry centers, since we perform both phases here at our facility in The Woodlands, TX. Both are performed while the patient is under local anesthesia. We provide advanced pain-management options, including sedation dentistry, to make the implantation process as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Mini-Implants
Mini-implants are the same as regular dental implants only they are much smaller in diameter, and are used in denture stabilization.
Treatment
The dentist begins the surgery by making a small incision in the gums in order to access the jawbone. Next, a small hole is drilled into the bone and the dental implant (a small titanium post) is carefully inserted. Finally, the implant is covered with gum tissue and allowed to heal. A temporary restoration may be worn until the implant site has healed. The healing process, called osseointegration, generally takes several months, during which time the dental implant adheres to the gums and jawbone. When the implant site has healed completely, the patient returns to our office to have the restoration placed.
This tooth will not only function like the patient’s natural teeth, but it will also feel and look like it as well. After it is determined that the bond between the implant and the bone is strong and secure, we are able to replace individual teeth with porcelain crowns and multiple teeth with implant-stabilized dentures (full or partial). To place the restoration, the dentist begins by uncovering the dental implant. Next, the restoration is carefully attached to the dental implant, assuring its fit with the surrounding teeth and bite. This step completes the restoration and the patient can leave our office with a restored smile.

Yes, it is expensive. BUT I WAS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY by Dr Lewis’s attention to every little detail, his passion to make your smile gorgeous and quality of work. Dr Lewis and his nurses are absolutely amazing. I have a condition that causes my enamel deteriorate over time. By the age of 25 all my teeth were covered with veneers or crowns. I also have couple implants. I have worked with various dentists in Houston area and abroad. Dr Lewis and his team have exceeded all my expectations by far. Dr Lewis has changed all my crowns and veneers, upper and lower teeth. He also had to readjust my bite due to natural teeth movements with age and work done by other dentists. I get tons of compliments on how beautiful my teeth are. I have never felt this confident about my smile. It has made a huge impact on my life. Not to mention how comfortable all my teeth feel, my gums are a lot healthier now too. They don’t bleed or hurt nearly as much as before I got to work with Dr Lewis.
