Overview
In some cases, the physical methods of making impressions are not ideal. Traditionally, you would have to sit as still as possible with a mouthful of putty for several minutes while a mold of your mouth was imprinted, and all for a simple plaster casting of your mouth. We offer traditional and digital impressions.
Digital impressions employ lasers and other optical scanning devices to render an in-depth, accurate depiction of your mouth straight to our computer screen for viewing. The payoff? More productivity, efficiency, and accuracy from us, and more comfort and less time in the dental chair for you. These are all great reasons to smile. Process
Preparation begins with the selected area of your mouth being cleaned. Depending on which system is employed, your teeth may need to be brushed with a specially formulated titanium dioxide powder. From there, we insert an intraoral wand into your mouth to begin capturing the data. Simultaneously, the data is rendered as an image onto the monitor. As the impression is reviewed in real-time, we can find and correct any mistakes with the data before it’s sent to our dental laboratory. As this is a better blueprint of your mouth, we can more accurately custom-create a solution for the teeth that need restoring. It should only take 3 – 5 minutes to scan your teeth and bite.

Dr. Guy Lewis is absolutely the best! I conducted months of research meeting with other cosmetic dentists before meeting Dr Lewis. Once I met him I knew he was the one! On our first visit he found a small cavity that 3 other dentists had overlooked.I live in Midland TX and traveled 9 hours. I trusted no one else with my smile. I personally know Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders who travel to have him perfect their smiles.He is, honest, detailed and will never encourage you to have a procedure you do not need, he cares about perfection. Along with the health of your teeth, he is an artist, he sees every detail. If he feels something has not come out to his standards he will fix it free of charge.If you worry about the cost, DO NOT convince yourself that saving a little money by using another dentist is justifiable. I had the same concern; however, it is not worth compromising your smile which could compromise your entire facial appearance.A smile contributes so much to your first impression, make sure it is a good one. Your personal and professional life can be dictated by your smile. Digital impressions can easily be tweaked with rescanning the image instead of making you sit through another messy traditional impression. They are eco-friendly as they remove the need for plastic trays and goopy impression materials. Also, they can be digitally stored in your electronic dental chart for easy access for future use and comparisons.
