Overview
The Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentistry provides dental teeth bonding treatments to restore the natural beauty and function of your teeth. Dental bonding treatments address cavities, metal filling replacements, chipped or cracked tooth repairs, and tooth-colored fillings for stains. Transform your smile with a quick, relatively inexpensive alternative to porcelain veneers and teeth whitening. Our cosmetic dentists can preserve the tooth’s structure while offering a procedure that can be completed in a single office visit. Dental bonding can also be used to complement Invisalign® and other cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry treatments. Other benefits of dental bonding include:
- Improves your smile with natural-looking results
- Boosts self-confidence
- Bonding material exactly matches the color of your teeth
- Requires little or no removal of tooth enamel
- Strengthens damaged or decayed teeth
Do you have minor cosmetic imperfections that you would like to correct? If you are in good oral health (i.e. a nonsmoker with no gum disease), then you may be a candidate for dental bonding at our dental practice in The Woodlands and Houston, TX.

Treatment
Dental bonding does not require local anesthetic or sedation, but some patients may want it for increased comfort during the procedure. During the bonding process, we will use a shade guide to select a composite resin that closely matches the color of the patient’s tooth. To prepare the teeth and help the resin bond to the natural teeth, we will texturize the surface and apply a conditioning liquid. Then, the tooth-colored, putty-like resin material is applied, molded, and smoothed to the desired shape on the tooth. Using a special light, the resin is set and the tooth is polished for a nice, natural finish. Typically, dental bonding only taking 30 – 60 minutes and it can be completed in one visit with no recovery time needed.
Bonding FAQs
How Long Does Bonding Last?
With good oral hygiene, the effects of dental bonding can last up 6 – 10 years. It is important for patients to maintain a good regimen of brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dentist to maintain the quality of the bond.
Special Care for Bonded Teeth?
Bonded teeth should be treated just like regular teeth, which means good oral hygiene. However, because the bonded material is susceptible to chipping, patients will damage the resin faster if they continue habits such as biting fingernails and chewing on hard food or objects.
Benefits of Bonding?
Dental bonding is an effective and noninvasive procedure that can be used to fix a number of cosmetic tooth concerns. This treatment also helps to keep the teeth strong and healthy by strengthening the enamel. For patients who do not qualify or do not wish to undergo oral surgery, dental bonding can be a great choice for minor dental problems.
