Traditional VS. No-Prep
Both traditional veneers and No-Prep G. Lewis veneers are designed for durability, superior aesthetic results, and can be completed in just two visits. Our dental practice recommends G. Lewis veneers instead of traditional veneers whenever possible, as a more conservative approach to preserve the natural teeth. Dr. Lewis chose ultra-thin, yet durable porcelain to craft the veneers. No-Prep G. Lewis veneers are a great option to fill in gaps or spaces, make small teeth appear larger and of course, whiten and brighten your smile.
Treatment
If you have delayed pursuing a smile makeover with porcelain veneers because you are worried about the placement process, consider No-Prep G. Lewis veneers. The process is remarkably comfortable, takes just 2 office visits, and provides a beautiful, luminous new smile. No-Prep G. Lewis veneers are bonded to the surface of the tooth without the need to shave down the enamel, which distinguishes them from traditional porcelain veneers. Placing Dr. Lewis’ No-Prep porcelain dental veneers requires 2 visits to our office:
First visit:
During the first visit, our dental team will make a mold of the teeth and mouth. Unlike placement of traditional porcelain veneers, anesthesia is usually not necessary, the teeth are not reduced, and temporary veneers are not placed. We will send the mold to the dental laboratory that will craft the veneers.
Second Visit:
When your No-Prep G. Lewis veneers are ready (usually in about a week), patients return to our office for their second visit to have the dental veneers placed. In this visit, the dentist will bond the veneers directly to the surface of your tooth, adjusts the fit, and buff them to a shine. The result is a luminous new smile that looks and feels indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

No cavities!! What a delightful thing to hear at my 6 month appointment. Dr Lewis really believes in having his clients have regular check ups. As a senior, I like to take advantage of everything offered to continue to have good teeth and gums. I have an oral cancer screening yearly, and a laser treatment bi-yearly to help prevent germs from causing possible gum disease. The staff are highly trained in their jobs and are the greatest in caring for the patient’s comfort. They always have a warm blanket ready for me. At the end of my visit, Dr Lewis provides a “to go” kit with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and a few other pertinent dental items. Whether you’re having problems with your teeth or would like your smile to look better, Dr Lewis is the man to see. He sure gave me a smile to be proud of back in 2015. I’ve never had one single problem with my veneers in the 9 years since. And, unbelievably, getting veneers doesn’t even hurt. What a blessing!!

I have been going to this practice since 2014. First for cosmetic dentistry(I now have the loveliest smile thanks to Dr. Lewis’s magic and veneers!). I have also had 30 plus year old fillings replaced and currently visit for cleanings and preventive care. My latest appointments involved the removal of a broken root, and the installation of an implant for a front tooth. It looks fabulous. Dr. Lewis is absolutely incredible. I had to have my veneers replaced. I started at my regular dentist. It was a terrible experience, and my temporaries fell off within hours of leaving the office. I called Dr. Lewis’s office, and they got me in the next business day. He listened to my concerns, and he made suggestions to improve the appearance of my smile. He was a true professional and was so empathetic about my previous experience. He gave me beautiful temporaries that are not going anywhere. Am I a Candidate?
Although Dr. Lewis recommends No-Prep G. Lewis Veneers when possible, traditional porcelain veneers may be the best option for some patients. If there are dark stains on the teeth, the thin porcelain used in G. Lewis Veneers may not adequately conceal the discoloration. For patients experiencing teeth protrusion, it may be necessary to reduce the teeth and place traditional veneers to avoid a bulky appearance. During your consultation, Dr. Lewis will determine whether you are a candidate for No-Prep G. Lewis Veneers.
Are They Stain-Resistant?
No-Prep G. Lewis veneers are stain-resistant, so they do not need to be touched up in the future. Patients, who have veneers placed on just the top or bottom teeth, may periodically whiten the natural teeth to keep them as bright as the veneers.
Are They Bulky?
The No-Prep G. Lewis veneers are designed to fit comfortably. These specific veneers avoid adding excess bulk to the teeth and reduce the likelihood of gum problems associated with thicker veneers.
