Summary of Treatments
Gum Recontouring or Crown Lengthening
With regards to surgery, we can make a smile fuller through the practice of laser gum recontouring, or "crown lengthening" as it’s also known. A pristine set of teeth can suffer from an unappealing gum line if they’re uneven or extend too far downward. Dubbed a "gummy smile," many suffering from this tend to feel self-conscious about the small size of their teeth in proportion to the gums. Fortunately, we can correct this problem by removing the excess gum tissue to reveal more of the tooth with the Waterlase MD technology. Laser dentistry can help give you a healthy and attractive smile worth flashing, by framing it with exquisitely sculpted gums.
Periodontal Treatments
The dental laser isn’t just for surgery, playing a critical role in dental hygiene as well. Bacteria and pathogens can work their way under the gums, causing them to inflame and eventually leading to periodontitis. We can combat this by running our laser under the gums, which kills off unwelcome bacteria and pathogens. Periodontal disease ultimately leads to tooth loss if left untreated. Additionally, by removing bacteria before it enters the bloodstream, we greatly reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. You may need several treatments to stop the spread of the disease depending on the severity of your gums.
Pre-Cancerous or Oral Pathogen Excisions
We can use the laser to remove pre-cancerous cells or lesions from the soft tissues in your oral cavity.
Texas Center for Cosmetic Dentistry Reviews
In the Woodlands , we have several great dentist . I am extremely happy I chose Dr.Lewis office. They are very professional , very nice ,very caring but what impressed me the most is there excellence . They made sure I was completely happy with my results . I had veneers done because I wanted a whiter smile .I also had tiny looking teeth so they trimmed the gums and exposed more of the tooth . No pain ! I love my smile . They let me wear temporaries for a while so I was sure I was happy with them . I appreciate that .Dr.Lewis and his staff of Doctors made great suggestions to me that I had no idea was available. I get so many compliments with my smile . I would advise anyone to trust this team .In fact just yesterday over lunch ,my friends and I where talking about my smile . I told them I was so embarrassed to smile .I had a gummy smile and never dreamed they could look so good. I have my regular cleanings done there as well .Love his whole team .

Lasers can minimize bleeding due to its high-energy beam aiding in coagulation (clotting), can minimize bacterial infections by sterilizing the targeted area, and can promote faster healing in your gums than conventional dental surgery.
Are Laser Safe for Everyone?
Yes. Laser dentistry can be performed on patients of all ages (from infancy to geriatrics) safely. Lasers can also provide some dental services to patients who might not qualify for conventional oral surgery.
