Gum Recontouring or Crown Lengthening
With regards to surgery, we can make a smile fuller through the practice of laser gum recontouring, or "crown lengthening" as it’s also known. A pristine set of teeth can suffer from an unappealing gum line if they’re uneven or extend too far downward. Dubbed a "gummy smile," many suffering from this tend to feel self-conscious about the small size of their teeth in proportion to the gums. Fortunately, we can correct this problem by removing the excess gum tissue to reveal more of the tooth with the Waterlase MD technology. Laser dentistry can help give you a healthy and attractive smile worth flashing, by framing it with exquisitely sculpted gums.

Periodontal Treatments
The dental laser isn’t just for surgery, playing a critical role in dental hygiene as well. Bacteria and pathogens can work their way under the gums, causing them to inflame and eventually leading to periodontitis. We can combat this by running our laser under the gums, which kills off unwelcome bacteria and pathogens. Periodontal disease ultimately leads to tooth loss if left untreated. Does It Hurt?

Lasers are generally employed by our dentists for a specific area of focus. It will not damage surrounding tissues. Depending on the power output and duration of exposure for the procedure, anesthesia is generally not needed. If you are concerned about pain during your laser procedure, please speak with your dentists in the treatment planning stage so that we can discuss pain management and sedation dentistry options. What are the Benefi

Lasers can minimize bleeding due to its high-energy beam aiding in coagulation (clotting), can minimize bacterial infections by sterilizing the targeted area, and can promote faster healing in your gums than conventional dental surgery.

Are Laser Safe for Everyone?

Yes. Laser dentistry can be performed on patients of all ages (from infancy to geriatrics) safely. Lasers can also provide some dental services to patients who might not qualify for conventional oral surgery. For instance, patients who have bleeding disorders or are taking blood thinners, may be better candidates for laser surgery.
